goals, part two
A few weeks ago Tembi informed me of her idea to make 2006 the year of organization. I like it, I need it, I'm co-opting it. I've lived for about six months now in a state of mild chaos, with packed boxes, unopened mail and limited means of transport, and they all affect me. Likewise not adhering to a consistent schedule or keeping good track of what I need to do adds to the feeling of unsettledness.
So another day, another goal. It's doable, as I've had each of these at various times, but all at once? -- 2006 would/*will* be a year well spent.
- schedule my time
A day can seem so purposeful if it's one with goals it achieves. That and I crave the structure. And I need to be more productive and responsible. And ... - keep a calendar
I like to know what I'm doing in the coming days, and this will help alleviate the feeling of forgetting something. I haven't quite found a great method of calendaring yet, though, be it paper or electronic. - reconcile my checkbook (archaic phrasing anymore, as tithe checks are the only ones I ever have to write)
- filing paperwork
This one's huge; order from chaos. It'll be a couple of days here. - purchase a car
This one's not organization as much as enablement, but they go hand-in-hand in my desire for normalcy. - maybe install a dishwasher
I'm getting better at washing my dishes manually, but if the kitchen's getting reconfigured anyway ... - new shelving and unpack boxes after remodel
Definitely exciting! Bookshelves, media shelves, actually moving in; pinch me.
So another day, another goal. It's doable, as I've had each of these at various times, but all at once? -- 2006 would/*will* be a year well spent.

Since when is Tembi not about organization?
Anyway, are you planning a laddered library in your remodeling plans?

Tembi needs it too, since she recently moved and has been in flux for the better part of the last year.
Unfortunately I don't have the permanence or the space for the library I'd like in my current house, but you'd better believe that adequate room and height will be coveted features when I'm ready to trade up!
